The seven stages of transitions
According to psychologists, there are seven stages in every transition we experience. These are:

1. Numbness
2. Denial
3. Depression or self-doubt
4. Letting go
5. Testing
6. Searching for meaning
7. Internalisation or acceptance

Knowing exactly where you are in a transition, knowing that your feelings will pass and knowing that your feelings are so normal that you've read about them can all help you to manage what is happening.
